Traditional Chhath Puja Prasad Recipes

Preparing Chhath Prasad demands sincere devotion, spotless kitchen utensils, and genuine traditional ingredients.

1. Thekua (Crispy Wheat & Jaggery Cookies)

Combine coarse wheat flour with ghee (shortening), fennel seeds, crushed coconut, and dark jaggery syrup to form a firm dough. Shape into patterned forms and fry over low heat in pure ghee until deep golden brown.

2. Rasiya (Jaggery Rice Kheer)

Bring whole milk to a boil, add aromatic raw rice (Arwa Chawal), and cook gently until it thickens. Remove from heat before mixing in natural powdered jaggery to prevent curdling.

3. Kasar (Rice Powder Ladoo)

Coarsely grind dry roasted raw rice into a powder. Combine it with warm ghee and jaggery powder, then shape the mixture into firm small balls while still warm.
